Meet Courtney Hannah

Courtney is a Denver-based photographer, video creator, and science communicator. Her photography reflects her passion for and connection to nature. Starting at the young age of six, Courtney has constantly expressed a love for art and science. She found her niche in both subjects while in high school discovering the magic of film photography during her art classes and learning about the importance of protecting our environments from her science teachers. Now, her photographic eye captures stunning imagery of natural scenes from around the globe that magnify all the connections we have with our natural world.

Courtney’s academic background has been majorly focused on psychology and biology, but she also took many photography courses throughout the years. She has been behind the camera since her early teen years, and as someone who values education, she is always looking for ways to strengthen her skills. Continuing to educate herself and others, Courtney has many goals surrounding the idea that art and science can work together to enlighten, inspire and connect.

Through her work, passion, and community, Courtney has dedicated her life to animals and conservation. She works full-time as a zoo keeper and lives with her two cats, Nashville and Bogart, and her dog, Layla, who loves to visit her pony, Easton. All the animals in her life fuel her drive to photograph more and continue advocating for them. In her free time, you can find her in the mountains on a trial either with her pups or on horseback.

“I want to capture moments that illicit you to learn more, know more, and see more. These images provide a space of understanding, appreciation, and unity.” - Courtney Hannah
